Josh Halpern is part of the team at LibreTexts and is interested in discussions about how LibreTexts can support OER globally. LibreTexts is not only one of the largest OER textbook repositories but also provides tools for easy and quick customization of books across the curriculum from Humanities to STEM. All material is covered by Creative Commons Copyright and is available at no cost. We have new formative and summative homework systems, import into LMSs and much more as well as providing very low cost printed books for all LibreTexts.
He is Professor of Chemistry Emeritus at Howard University His scientific research was eclectic, including materials science, earth science, planetary science, chemistry and physics. He was the founding director of the DC Space Grant Consortium and administered the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center Faculty Fellowship Program from 1995 to 2006. As part of the LibreTexts project, Halpern talks at conferences and publishes on improving dissemination of on line educational materials as well as writing LibreTexts materials.
